In brief

A former Police Station building on the Dudley Road near Summerfield Park. Since the West Midlands Police moved to their new premises on Icknield Port Road, the building has become quite derelict, and is at risk, if not repaired sooner rather than later.

Summerfield Police Station - history

The Dudley Road Police Station was either built in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is situated next to Summerfield Park. A row of shops next to it on the Dudley Road was demolished in 2008. The building was last occuped by the West Midlands Police in about 2010. By 2011 the building had been sold. But in the last decade, the building has been a target for vandalism and anti social behaviour, including the smashing of windows. The building has been up for sale again from 2020.

The new Summerfield Police Station from West Midlands Police, has been open on Icknield Port Road (around the corner from the old building) since about 2010.
