Five Ways Station - A City Gem!

Five Ways Station opened on the Cross City Line in 1978 at Islington Row Middleway in Edgbaston, Birmingham (just outside the City Centre). The original station existed here from 1885 to 1944.

Where is Five Ways Station?

Five Ways Station is on Islington Row Middleway, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 1QA

In brief

Five Ways is the first station south of Birmingham New Street on the Cross City Line (opened in 1978) towards Longbridge, Redditch and Bromsgrove. The original station opened in 1885 on this site, but was closed in 1944 during the Second World War. A new station was built and opened by architect John Broome in 1978. The main entrance on Islington Row Middleway. The line was electrified in 1993. Now served by Class 323 Electric Multiple Units (they will be replaced in the near future).
