The Rose Villa Tavern is a public house in the Jewellery Quarter near The Golden Square and Chamberlain Clock, at the corner of Vyse Street and Warstone Lane. Opened in 1920.

The Rose Villa Tavern is at 172 Warstone Lane, Birmingham, B18 6JW. Within the Jewellery Quarter and next to The Golden Square at the corner of Vyse Street, and near the Chamberlain Clock.

Rose Villa Tavern - history

It is a Grade II listed building.

Full name is the Rose Villa Tavern Public House.

Built 1919 - 20, with late 20th century alterations.

By Wood & Kendrick for Mitchell & Butlers Ltd at a cost of £15,000.

Built of red brick with buff terracotta dressings.

The main bar is on Warstone Lane.

The Chamberlain Clock is at the junction of Vyse Street, Warstone Lane and Frederick Street, close to the Rose Villa Tavern.

There used to be a car park at the back of the Rose Villa Tavern, but this was removed, when The Golden Square was built in front of The Big Peg in 2014.

HSBC UK had a painted street art advert on the side of the Rose Villa Tavern from The Golden Square back in January 2019.

The Rose Villa Tavern would temporarily loose the Chamberlain Clock as a neighbouring feature from August 2020 to April 2021, while it was being fully restored.

Bitter & Twisted was a recent owner of the Rose Villa Tavern (after taking over from Mitchells & Butlers).

They ran the pub from 2011 until the end of 2021 (they handed the pub back to landlords Star Pubs & Bars).
